The reigning queen of piano house, LP Giobbi, has some extremely exciting news to share. Following her highly impressive rework of Jerry Garcia’s 1972 album, Garcia, LP Giobbi announced a massive milestone in her career, with the upcoming release of her debut album, Light Places. A tribute to her parents and a life-long passion for Grateful Dead, Light Places makes its introduction with lead single “Can’t Let You Go.”
To say we have been wishing for an album of all original music from Giobbi is an understatement. We couldn’t be more pleased with her first offering from this highly anticipated LP. “Can’t Let You Go” is the perfect blend of pop melodies, funky bass, and bright synth styling. Carefree vocals from Little Jet accentuate the free-flowing vibes of the track, and compliment LP’s dynamic production.
On the new single, LP Giobbi commented:
I thought about my love for Polo & Pan and how fun it would be to make a song to be consumed during a pool time hang with friends. I sent the track to Little Jet – my favorite new band who is making music reminiscent of that amazing washed out / Beach House era but dare I say even more electronically savvy. They wrote the vocals ‘can’t let you go’ and also added some cool Juno synths.
