Manila Killa may have just released his first EP this year, but he’s been around for a few years now building a solid fanbase and crafting a diverse handful remixes and originals. 1993 was the first time we’d seen him put together a larger body of work, and while it did have the slightly funky, smooth electronic tracks you’d expect, he also mixed it up, including an acoustic, piano-centered track, “Midwinter.”
The budding artist has now released a fully remixed version of his freshman EP, which includes two reworks of his own. He twisted and contorted “1993” and “Runaway” into slightly darker versions, properly dubbed the Dusk Editions (fully equipped with evil cackle samples). He said the first leg of the 1993 tour and the energy fans showed him really inspired these remixes, so they must’ve been going HARD at these shows.
Outside of the Dusk Editions, other highlights are the chilled-out remix of “Skin” by Myrne and the Laxcity remix of “Midwinter,” which turns up the orchestral and ambient elements of the beautiful, reflective track. See tour dates below as well.Enjoy!
