Manila Killa is one of those rare artists who just seems to improve with every release. His label, Moving Castle, is another leading force in the melodic and future bass community that continues to release forward-thinking music. After staying busy last year with a number of virtual sets, collaborations, and live shows, the Filipino product is back with his first release of 2022, “Dark Places.”
The track features soulful vocals from singer/songwriter, Kwesi, whose lyrics focus on looking towards the future without dwelling on the past. Manila Killa’s sound never stays in the same lane and this time we hear him experimenting with a more emotional, indie-electronic palette. Kwesi’s soothing vocals provide the perfect compliment to the melodic and percussive production.
