Maribou State have gone through their own ups and downs throughout their career. Last year, they returned from a three year hiatus, releasing their single, “Blackoak.” Earlier this year, Chris Davids, one half of the duo, revealed a rare brain condition that would put the project on pause. Lucky for us, it appears that the pause is over as they’ve released their newest single, “Otherside,” off their upcoming album Hallucinating Love.
The track finds Maribou State refreshed and energized as they look ahead towards the coming months. Vocals are courtesy of frequent collaborator Holly Walker who, together with Maribou State, create a richly textured and glistening soundscape, reminding listeners of what the group is capable of.
