Though you might know him from his bass house bangers, Matroda‘s recently been proving himself to be quite versatile as he branches out under the house umbrella. Whatever it is that the Croatian produces, it can usually be assumed that it’s going to turn up the energy on the dance floor. His latest release is a two track house EP that definitely holds true to that.
“When We Were Young” definitely has some of that dark, club ready Matroda sound but moves in a more progressive, melodic direction. A plucky, plunging bassline and synth arpeggios lend the track an alluring and atmospheric sound. The other side, “Gimme Those Keys” is a dynamic house track with an unmistakable energy. Incorporating euphoric house keys with snappy percussion and a filthy bassline, this track is an absolute slapper with some fresh and unique style.
