We have the pleasure of introducing a new artist to TSIS today: rising Montreal-based producer Midsplit. Maxence Pepin aka Midsplit has taken electronic music lovers by surprise, releasing a handful of forward-thinking tunes since busting onto the scene last year. We are excited to now premiere Midsplit’s newest single “Same Life,” featuring none other than Wiz Khalifa.
As with previous releases, “Same Life” sees Midsplit incorporating more live instrumentation into the mix with piano and guitar. These elements blend perfectly with crisp electronic sounds to give us something unique. Wiz Khalifa spits catchy verses between high-energy breakdowns, his laidback, melodic vocal style contrasting with heavy bass and intense drum fills. Midsplit drops the track with blasting synth chords and a modulated vocal lead, continuing to incorporate funky guitar melodies and punchy drum samples in between.
