Brazilian producer MKJAY has a gift to DJs in the form of a three-pack of house heaters. His new EP Lock of the Rave, out now via Imsoniac‘s IN /ROTATION imprint, offers three energetic, dance-ready tracks. What we love about this EP is how different each track is, demonstrating the wide range of sounds within the house music genre and MKJAY’s versatility.
Starting things off is the title track, “Lock of the Rave,” a grimy house song filled with grungy bass inflections. MKJAY recruited British rapper JC Stormz to lend some bars for this song, giving it a jungle flavor. Next, we have “Truthful,” a piano-driven, two-step anthem. Vocals from Daft Hill give the song a light and euphoric feel, a nice contrast from the EP opener. Rounding out the EP is “Don’t Stop,” a bass house collaboration with Vietnamese artist D-Tek. This track will have your head bopping along to the infectious bass line and siren effects.
Any of these three tracks are sure to light up a dancefloor near you. You can listen to Lock of the Rave below, enjoy!
