Marrying the worlds of two great genres, Munboi and SJG have teamed up on a vibe that oozes smoothness and sophistication in “No Place Lyk.”
From the first moments, the two bring the temperature down with an icy, easy-going UKG beat that sets the atmospheric tone. Airy, echo-fueled vocals layer atop that allows the listener to take in the story in a laid back manner as the genres swap back from UKG to house naturally.
Munboi takes the lead on vocals, putting his own timbre on display which naturally fits with the instrumental introduced. As the chorus comes in, the energy picks up and the theme of the release becomes more clear through the lyrics: Making new fast friends at a show, getting immersed in the moment, and being present in the music.
