The last album we got from Nick Murphy was his Chet Faker album Built On Glass back in 2014. It was one of my favorite albums in years and I had no idea it would be the last full length album from the Chet Faker moniker. Since then he’s been releasing music under his birth name of Nick Murphy and taking a more indie rock approach. He’s already shared singles like “Sanity” and “Message You At Midnight” ahead of the full LP.
Now he’s back with Run Fast Sleep Naked as his first album under his real name. The 11-track album comes via Downtown/Future Classic/Oppulent. Murphy maintains a lot of the same qualities we fell in love with him for, with some new pop and rock influences apparent in his sound. The music released under Nick Murphy isn’t where I was hoping he’d go with his sound after Built On Glass but I’ll take it after the 5 year wait. Check out the full album below and enjoy!
