You might know UK producer nimino from his 2021 album Rooms on the Ark,” but you definitely know him from his 2024 hit single “I Only Smoke When I Drink.” A track that accumulated over 120 million streams since its August release and ultimately landed on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Chart, the BBC Radio 1 A List, as well as earning him a spot on Amazon Music’s 2025 artists to watch list and his own BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix last month. It’s been a well earned and straight upward trajectory for nimino this past year, and today we’re lucky to receive his new EP Creek, arriving via Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records.
Creek stands at six-tracks long, and includes the infamous “I Only Smoke When I Drink” as well as his January release “Shaking Things Up” and “Nothing Perfect” from last May. All three serve as expansive and innovative tracks that set up this EP perfectly. Newcomer and first track on the EP, “Glow,” is potentially the most impressive. Immersive in nature with its lush piano keys and soothing synths. Each track is its own story. nimino’s ability to create a world within one track while maintaining a theme within the entire EP is nothing short of stunning. You just want to float down a river, picnic in the park, or gaze at the stars with this soundtrack playing.
After completing his sold out North American Tour, nimino has a packed summer of festival appearances across Europe and North America beginning with a performance at Coachella’s Do LaB stage Weekend 2. Stream Creek below and enjoy!
