Spanning garage, house, breaks, jungle and beyond, NOTION has no limits or restrictions for himself with his new album, FORWARDS. As implied by the name, the rising artist is experiencing a period of massive growth, as he showcases his journey of self exploration, moving away from exclusively producing bass music.
NOTION has refined his signature sound on FORWARDS. There is a clear, extremely pleasant common thread in the production, creating a feeling of cohesiveness throughout the album. His high tempo, club-poised beats mesh so seamlessly with his vocal chop syncopations and driving bass lines. “THINK ABOUT U” was our personal favorite, incorporating just the right amount of top line with a pulsing beat.
NOTION commented on the state of our culture, sharing:
I hate the way all art seems to get reduced down to 15 second clips now and the songs on this project, all the music videos and everything else are kind of a fuck you to all that disposable culture and I hope something that still sound (and look) as good in five years as they do now.
