ODESZA Enlist Hayden James for New House Remix of “The Last Goodbye”

||, |

Hayden James and ODESZA have a long history of collaboration. The duo frequently plays a special VIP version of their “Something About You” remix during their shows, and James has previously reworked “Say My Name.” Today marks the third back-and-forth of their remixes, with James dropping one of “The Last Goodbye.

James’ remix keeps the powerful vocal stems of Bettye LaVette, the shining star of the original. He gives the bass line a major boost though, transforming it into a stomping four-on-the-floor beat. Gone are the delicate piano chords, replaced with heavy reverb and subtle acid synth. James still captures the euphoric nature of ODESZA’s original but elevates it into a club-ready track.

We love to see two of our favorite artists share a mutual respect for each other’s work. Whether ODESZA incorporates this new remix into their shows or James continues to play it during his sets, we can’t wait to get down to this track on a dance floor soon. You can check it out below. Enjoy!
