OLAN Stuns On Impressive Sophomore Album ‘Floating Worlds’

|||

Hot off of opening for ODESZA on their last stadium tour, rising artist and producer, OLAN, has proven herself as one-to-watch in the electronic community. With every single track on her sophomore album exclusively written and produced by OLAN, there is no question as to the truly impressive rising talent she is. This is Floating Worlds.

Floating Worlds is a testament to OLAN’s creative range. From bangin’ high-tempo tracks like “If You Need Me,” to the slow-grooving, vocal-infused “Warm To The Touch,” OLAN manufactures an immersive world (a floating one, if you will) of music around this album. Her distinctive progressive house influence meshes together with hints of UK Garage and indie-dance, allowing for a new aspect of her inspirations to be showcased on each tune.

OLAN commented on the album’s meaning, sharing:

This album as a whole has been a way for me to confront any grief or disappointment I experienced in the last four years. Floating Worlds literally refers to how unreliable and flaky our existence can be. As the album took shape, I started to realize I wasn’t alone in what I was feeling. That didn’t justify anything, but not feeling alone meant there’s a way to cope.
