Formed in Australia and now calling Germany their home, electropop group Parcels have been making waves ever since their debut self-titled album in 2018. The group have forged their own quaint sound that is influenced by their roots, and their latest “Safeandsound” is another extension of that.
“Safeandsound” is incredibly mellow, letting the vocals and strings shine over an emphatic drumbeat. The track is light and airy, feeling both like a throwback and a modern classic with hints of everything amazing from bands in the 1970s dropped into the 2020s. While some of their bigger songs are more dancey and have groove to them, this song takes you on a ride through the sky and makes you feel like you are floating through the clouds.
With early recognition from dance legends Daft Punk, it’s no surprise Parcels have found so much success and creates incredibly high-quality music. Their latest here shows their unique range and ability to shift but stay true to their sound.
