The latest release to come from Zeds Dead's Deadbeats label is "Alibi" by Pham and Sober Rob. The gritty electronic single features female vocalist Madi who brings extra emotion to the production with her slick vocals.
"Alibi" incorporates dark and moody ambient synths that are intercepted by a strong bassline driving the foundation of the drop. The contrast between Madi's silky vocals and the hard bassline is simply done to a tee and keeps us listening until the very end.
"We'd been doing some projects after we met in Los Angeles and there was one that caught our attention after a while. During the process we met Madi, an amazing singer. The decision was to set the sounds in contrast. We found our common creative ground with Madi: in this example the vocals became really light and instrumentation started to get gritty and hard hitting…We wanted to introduce something new, push the envelope amongst the wave of replicating sound aesthetics." — Pham and Sober Say
Pham is someone we've been covering for a few years now and recently shared his chill trap single "Below The Surface." We first introduced Sober Rob to the site last summer with his refreshing future bass original "With Me" and have see Madi shine on several cuts like "Lilith" by Dabin and "Flutter" by Virtual Riot. It's awesome to see the three acts come together on a strong track like this, especially on a respected independent label like Deadbeats. Listen to "Alibi" below and enjoy!
