Rising Belgian producer, Polar Youth, has been making some serious ground as of late, recently debuting on Quality Good Records, and now landing on deadmau5’s imprint, mau5trap. Her latest EP, Hypogean, reflects on “coping with loss while maintaining a positive mindset.”
Polar Youth starts the EP with the ethereal, “Haunted,” a slow-grooving progressive house tune with spacious, reverberated vocals. The producer brings the beat up on “I Still C U,” a pop-infused track centered around Veronica Bravo’s vocals that catapults into syncopated, percussion-driven drops. Closing out the EP, “Everytime” shows off Polar Youth’s diverse production chops, as she experiments with UKG beats and sharp synth melodies.

My EP Hypogean delves into the depths of emotions that I typically conceal, from everyone, even from myself. Throughout the creation of this EP, I experienced a rediscovery of myself, particularly in terms of emotional depth and understanding.
