They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but in Jeffrey Paradise’s case it might be alright. Better known as Poolside, Paradise has just released his fourth studio album Blame It All On Love and it’s his most intimate yet. Coining his music as “daytime disco” himself, he takes his creative heights to new levels in this funky, soulful and radiant album.
Blame It All On Love shows Poolside’s ability to blend his live music roots with his electronic production prowess. Its 11 tracks feel like an escape from reality. “Float Away” and “Sea of Dreams” take you up into the clouds and under the sea with their hypnotic melodies. He takes you for a cruise on “Ventura Highway Blues” with a steady pulsing Blues bassline. Poolside also sticks to his “daytime disco” vibes on “We Could Be Falling In Love,” the closest thing to a dance track he’s ever made.
Poolside is joined by a variety of talented vocalists including Vansire, Ben Browning, Panama, Ora The Molecule, Life On Planets, Slenderbodies, Munya and Mazy on this project. Who together with Poolside’s talents help take Blame It All On Love to poignant pop heights.
