January saw tragedy hit the city Los Angeles as parts of the city were affected by destructive wildfires. One of the many people is Jeffrey Paradise, aka Poolside. In 2023 Poolside released his fourth studio album, Blame It All On Love, recorded in the same home that was lost. Located in the Malibu Hills, the house served as a sanctuary for himself and musician friends. It was also a favorite hangout of the Grateful Dead in the 70’s, built with wood salvaged from the Venice Beach pier.
As Poolside searches for a new home he has also embarked on the Poolside & Friends: DISCO NEVER DIES – LA Wildfire Benefit Tour, as well as released his newest single, “Pull Together,” with Satin Jackets.
Poolside shares,
“Tragedy and art have always been old friends. I understood that before, but now—I live it. Losing a home changes you, but it also opens a door to create something from the ruins. What started as loss became a cycle—pain feeding art, art feeding healing. And now, the beginning of the new beginning—for me, and for Poolside.”
“Pull Together” is a heartfelt and inspired track about the way LA has pulled together through this time. Although what happened was devastating, the classic Poolside vibes are still present in this track. An invigorating bassline, lush melodies, danceable beat and a groove only Poolside could design.
