This past summer, Porter Robinson and Madeon shook the world with their uplifting, melodic "Shelter" collaboration that was assisted by a major fall tour announcement. Today, they've shared an animated video for "Shelter" that is written and executive produced by Porter himself. He considers this "one of the most important days of my life". See below for an explanation of the official music video.
"'Shelter' tells the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, Rin awakens in virtual reality and uses a tablet which controls the simulation to create a new, different, beautiful world for herself. Until one day, everything changes, and Rin comes to learn the true origins behind her life inside a simulation."
Japanese culture, and anime in particular, have always played an important role in Porter Robinson's career. His deep appreciation and love for the culture truly comes to life in this video. Watch it below and enjoy!
