Since her 2016 debut, Australian producer GG Magree has been concocting bombastic bass/trap anthems that will rattle even the heaviest of headbangers. Proof of that is her 2016 collab with NGHTMRE and Zed’s Dead, which is sitting comfortably at 28 million streams on Spotify alone.
Accolades aside she’s been busy honing her craft and expanding her sound since then, with her new single “Nervous Habits” being a prime example of that. Representing her first release on Dim Mak, the track is a collaboration with Joey Fleming, the lead singer of LA-based alt-punk band In Her Own Words. Melding GG’s signature bass-heavy sound with that of some ’90s era alt-rock, GG provides a perfect backdrop for a vocal performance which greatly resembles a dialogue between two people, discussing what else? Their respective nervous habits, specifically that one “love” that everyone has and can’t seem to break away from.
