Lido blew us away last April with "Crazy", the lead single off his debut single. The song came paired with an insane music video in which Lido conducted a symphony of lights in sync with the track's lush future bass synths, vocals and horn bursts. Well now Alison Wonderland has decided to give the record her own spin and we're excited to premiere it on TSIS.
While the original track starts off by isolating the vocal, Alison chooses to give the production a darker, more cinematic feel by adding low orchestral strings underneath. She layers this opening sequence with epic percussion that steadily becomes louder and louder in the buildup. The future bass drop is reworked and broken up with unique drum hits and other percussive fillers.
It's worth noting that Lido's remix of Alison's single "Messiah" with M-Phazes also dropped today, but it wasn't by complete coincidence. The two are actually really good friends.
"Alison is one of my best friends in the whole world. We met three years ago and she's had my back ever since. We even lived together for a little while. As soon as she played me Messiah I knew I had to put my spin on it and it was torture keeping the song on the hush for so long. I guess she felt similarly about Crazy so this is the most organic remix-swap of all time!" - Lido
Alison adds, "It's really cool to be creative with people who you not only respect as an artist but you can call a friend." With respect to Lido's remix of "Messiah", it simply is next level. Lido takes on the duty of vocals and nails it. He completely makes it his own and masterfully switches from one mood to another in smooth fashion. He keeps the upbeat house drop but overlays the catchy beat with distinct drums and atmospheric pads. Listen to his remix of "Messiah" and the premiere of Alison's remix of "Crazy" below. Enjoy!
