If you have not already, it is time that you familiarize yourself with the Australian indie-dance trio Crooked Colours. They first broke into the scene in 2017 with their standout single “Flow”, which is now approaching 15-million plays on Spotify and was featured on their debut album Vera. Since, they have released undeniably catchy singles such as “I’ll Be There”, “Do It Like You” and “Hold On”, all of which are to be included on their sophomore album Langata dropping tomorrow, 5/17. But before the album drops, we have the pleasure of exclusively premiering a featured cut titled “Just Breathe”; and similar to previous releases, we can’t get enough of it…
“Just Breathe” kicks-off with guitar plucks and airy vocals which are eventually accompanied by natural percussion and a deep bassline. The track then breaks down with an intriguing new vocal melody, carving space for a build-up which leads the song into its’ amazingly danceable climax; Crooked Colours’ loveable sound that makes them one of the most promising up-and-coming acts.
“This was one of the first tracks we started working on after we released Vera. It was just the intro guitar loop for a long time until we added all the layers around that.
