Our next premiere this morning comes from one of bass music’s fastest growing artists, SubDocta. Coming to us from the always dangerous WAKAAN label, the Reno, Nevada based artist’s new track, “Psych Ward,” is as gritty and gut punching as they come.
SubDocta’s unique brand of what he calls “West Coast Wobble” has earned him support from some of the heaviest hitters in the game including Dirt Monkey, Opiuo, Borgore, and Ganja White Knight. One listen of this latest weapon and it’s easy to see why. Extra crunchy bass synths, game samples, and a no-nonsense electric guitar take turns blasting listeners with melodic, dubbed out lines. Thank God the doc gives us at least a little breathing room about half way through the track, because no doubt my head would explode otherwise.
It’s been minute since I’ve seen such an appropriate song title. Make sure you locate your nearest mental institution before hitting play. If you make it through all 4 minutes 25 seconds, you’ll be an incoherent mess. Stream SubDocta’s catatonic new cut, “Psych Ward,” below. Enjoy!
