You thought summer was over? Try again. Although the Autumn solstice is in two days, “technically” marking the end of summer, GRAMMY award winning producer and nu-disco maestro Purple Disco Machine has broken the rules of planet earth to deliver his third album, Paradise. Spanning 14 soulful and dance-floor ready tracks, this project sees Purple Disco Machine invite us all to discover paradise. Via Sony Music Germany and RCA Records, Paradise is the type of album where you press play and leave it alone (and maybe put it on loop). Listening to this album is like transporting straight to a 1970’s discotheque, except the year is 2024 and your house slippers work just fine as dancing boots.
Paradise sees the German producer collaborate with some of the scene’s most beloved artists. Nile Rogers supplies some superb guitar riffs for “Honey Boy,” that alongside Jamaican vocalist Shenesea sounds like it came straight from Barbieland. “Heartbreaker” with Chromeo features a truly irresistible four-to-the-floor disco beat and also samples Italian Disco band My Mine’s 1983 classic, “Hypnotic Tango.” “Something On My Mind” sees Purple Disco Machine bring on the uber talented Duke Dumont for production alongside UK indie-rock-pop band Nothing But Thieves who proved an anthemic topline. “All My Life” with Belgian producer The Magician was the final track completed for the album, and is maybe the most catchy and feel-good song on the whole album. Save the best for last I suppose.
Purple Disco Machine is set to embark on his Paradise Tour this fall, with all new production, mashups, a brand new album, and a fully equiped live band with singers and dancers Purple Disco isn’t letting summer die so quickly. Check out his tour dates here.
