Netherlands-based producer Sam Feldt has had no problem becoming a household name within the deep house realm. Over the past three years he’s catapulted to international stardom with his impressive remix work – from his 2014 take on Mumford and Son’s “I Will Wait” with Bloombox to this year’s smooth rework of Frank Walker’s “Young” feat. Andrew Jackson, the 24-year-old artist has always kept things consistent and, more importantly, fun. It’s only fitting that the time has finally come for Sam Feldt to release his first ever album, Sunrise.
This 12-track offering features an array of guest artists from across genres, including Akon, The Federal Empire, Alex Schulz and many more. As a whole, the album exemplifies Sam Feldt’s summery signature that never takes itself too seriously. While there are definitely some iconic tropical Feldt tracks like “YES,” “World Can Wait” and “Lost On Me,” the producer also shows a deeper breadth of versatility than we’ve ever seen from him before. Between the western guitar melodies and country-style vocals, “Shot By My Own Gun” with The Federal Empire is in more ways a folk song than it is electronic. And while “Save Tonight” is no doubt a bubbly tropical house track fit for summer, you can’t help but hear Eagle-Eye Cherry’s ‘90s original through the lyrics. Check out Sunrise below and enjoy!
