Shlump has been absolutely killing it in the bass music world. Having wrapped up 2018 with his massive Lazer Beam EP, today we’re excited to be premiering the Santa Cruz-based producer’s return to the Wakaan family via a heavy new single “System Crash”.

Bass-music fans of all types are sure to resonate with this latest banger. As Shlump has continued to blow us away with every iteration of his impressive alien-bass sound, this latest offering only further exemplifies his unique production prowess.

“I hadn’t made too many half timed 120 bpm beats so this was something new. For me it was a really fun song to write because there is so much space between the drums at 120 – so many different ways to take it. Wanted the first drop to be a heavy dubstep ish sound design, but wanted something different for the 2nd drop. Started fiddling with some arpeggios on an acid bass patch and came up with a cool pattern. For me this song was very experimental.” – Shlump

Packed full of eerie, atmospheric soundscapes, shrill, mechanical whirring and heavy, eroded bass – all rounded out with some powerful breakbeats, “System Crash” is everything we could’ve hoped for from a much needed dose of experimental bass. Check out Shlump’s new single below and enjoy!
