It is never too late for a comeback. Let it be known.
It’s been almost two decades since Skream and Benga released new music together, but in 2022 we’ll finally see an end to that drought. Skream took to Twitter shortly before the end of the year to announce that he and Benga, two of the more critical pioneers of dubstep, will be reuniting.
While Skream and Benga did come back together in 2011 for an Essential Mix, this is the first time since 2003 that they’ll be releasing new music as a duo. Skream made sure to clarify what’s to come when he posted on Instagram: “No throw back, brand new music only.”
Between this new endeavor with Benga and some more dubstep-focused sets, Skream has recently shown a desire to return to the dubstep scene. For the better part of the past decade, he’s been leaning heavily into house and techno.
We’ll be patiently awaiting what’s to come from these two icons.
The boys are back in town….
Skream X @iambenga 2.0…..
2022 we’re having it.
