We knew a second Skrillex album was coming eventually in 2023, but we didn’t anticipate it coming less than 24 hours after the first. On Friday, Skrillex released Quest For Fire, a 15-track album and his first since 2014’s Recess. While he was performing with Four Tet and Fred again.. at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Skrillex announced that he had just dropped Don’t Get Too Close, a 12-track album and his second in two days.
Don’t Get Too Close is a bit more pop-leaning than Quest For Fire, featuring massively popular singers and rappers such as Kid Cudi, Justin Bieber, Swae Lee, and more. As Skrillex said himself, it’s “much different” than the first album, which mostly contains various types of dance music to play out live.
