There’s been a lot of hype surrounding Skrillex‘s continuing comeback over the past year – and for good reason. As the legendary producer made his triumphant return via his first EP in seven years + a new project with his Boys Noize super-duo Dog Blood, today we’ve received some new details about his forthcoming new album!
“I’ve never sat down and been completely tenacious about one of my releases like this.” – Skrillex
It was big news towards the end of last year when Skrillex casually let it slip that he had multiple albums in the works. And while there haven’t been any new developments about the number of projects he’s currently finishing, he sat down with the Beats 1 crew pre-GRAMMY’s to speak a bit on what is surely the most ambitious album process of his career.
“It was a conscious decision a couple years ago, I was like – alright, I’m going to clear the books, do a few tours here and there, but really just focus on taking my damn time to meet with new musicians and writers…” – Skrillex
Having touched on and his insane studio, album content in the works and thoughts on his & Boys Noize’s GRAMMY nominated track “Midnight Hour“, Skrillex let on that this new album will be the most meticulous project he’s worked on to date. With some of the Beats 1 crew remarking that the new music (that they’ve been fortunate enough to preview) is something that “producer/DJs and creatives haven’t seen before”.
“Some of these records are almost a year old now and they haven’t aged at all.” – Skrillex
We truly can’t wait to see what Skrillex has in store for us in this new decade. Take a listen to the full interview below (Skrillex comes in around 1:23:00) exclusively on Apple Music and enjoy!
