St. Lucia Unveil “Crimes of Passion” Ahead of Upcoming Album

|||,

St. Lucia arrive with a one-of-a-kind gem, “Crimes of Passion,” a sleek, immersive single that breathes a fresh perspective into themes of introspection and prolonged inner conflict. It’s the first glimpse into Fata Morgana: Dusk, the second chapter of their double album, due December 5 via Nettwerk.

Co-written with Aly & AJ and conceived during a writing trip to Los Angeles, the track pulls from early ’90s house and Kwaito rhythms to build a hypnotic disco groove, anchored by beautifully layered vocal work from both Jean-Philip Grobler and Patti Beranek. The tone captures the whispered unraveling of a relationship as it slides into irreversible tragedy.

In the video, dancers Nicolas Laubscher and Weronika Kamińsk express the track’s central point of tension mention above, bringing the experience into a more theatric light. Shot in South Africa, the visual leans into stark black-and-white with flashes of color – a potential ‘cue’ to the contrast between Dawn and Dusk.

With more on the way – including additional singles, visuals, and the full release of Fata Morgana: Dusk – St. Lucia are clearly entering one of their most creatively charged phases to date. Stream the track below and enjoy!
