Submotion Orchestra Pushes Genre Boundaries on ‘Five Points’ EP

|||

Pushing their own boundaries while simultaneously returning to their roots, electronic band, Submotion Orchestra, reflects on their time together over the past fifteen years through their brand new EP, Five Points. A taste of whats to come from their forthcoming album, Five Points is a delightfully genre-fluid electronic escapade.

Submotion Orchestra create a world of their own with Five Points. A truly immersive listening experience, we were captivated by the consistent melodic motifs and energy evolution throughout the EP. Utilizing Ruby’s voice not only for its natural melodic qualities, but also as an instrument, the production becomes extraordinarily dynamic. Our personal favorite track, “Side Two,” features beautiful synth arpeggios, spacious horns, and tasteful sampling of Ruby’s vocals.

Taz of Submotion Orchestra shared his thoughts on the EP, commenting:

We’ve been together 15 years now, and have gone through a lot of experiences both individually and collectively in that time. The lyrics allude to that stage in life when you’ve passed through youthful energy and optimism and are dealing with much more serious things in life – births, deaths, relationships ending, responsibilities that seem to come out of nowhere and rapidly dominate your life. This can be overwhelming and hopeless, but sometimes it can also lead to a little bit of wisdom and realism about your own goals and achievement.
