It comes as no surprise that singer, songwriter, and producer, Sycco, has been deemed “one of Australia’s most promising pop acts.” Not only has the triple-threat received praise from some of the largest music tastemakers, but iconic artists including Flume and Tame Impala have put their massive stamp of approval on her project. The latest and greatest representation of Sycco’s breadth of talent has arrived, in the form of her debut album, Zorb.
Zorb is a blissful union of pop and electronic influence. Sycco’s vocals lean more on the pop-end of the spectrum, captivating our attention with instantly memorable hooks and melodies. On the other hand, the production ranges from EDM to R&B, feeling consistently unique to Sycco’s signature sound. We were utterly impressed by the sophistication and cohesiveness of this debut album. Make sure to give it a listen!
Sycco shared what Zorb means to her:
‘Zorb’ is a term I made sense of while I was on acid. It’s so silly, but everyone has their own zorb—it’s basically like an energy field. And then when you join another person, and you’re on the same wavelength, you’re in the same zorb.
