With the summer months approaching and the focus going to the outdoors, the warehouses and nightclubs certainly cannot be forgotten, and thus we have a new EP from rising UKG artist tesh, CYCLES & REPETITIONS.
CYCLES & REPETITIONS beautifully meshes a variety of styles that both complement and extend his sound. “Can’t Get Enough” features techno flavors, “Fingertips” brings the house element and some gorgeously airy vocals, and “Apologies ” gives everything you’d expect from tesh and is pure authenticity;
tesh says,
“APOLOGIES is my way of paying homage to the new wave of UKG/2-step, while showcasing some fresh production styles…Emotionally, it’s a reflection of my own struggles with communication, especially in relationships. The end of the track is meant to be that moment of reflection and clarity.”
This project goes even deeper beyond just its sound as well, telling the story of a protagonist character in a fictional dystopia through such events as love and loss and addiction. So there is a lot happening beyond just the surface of this project, which deserves quite a few listens.
