Certain key sounds are slowly percolating that will begin to shape the current era of popular dance music, tesh’s “FINGERTIPS,” well-represents what it means to think ahead given the sounds of the now.
With commonalities with modern names like GRIMES and Fred Again, tesh’s “‘FINGERTIPS,” starts out incorporating melancholy minor chords and soft-and-tight house/breaks drum design. The trippy and dark journey takes a new turn as a ghostly vocal topline is brought into frame. With a slight vocal-stutter naturally leaning into the drum work, the entire experience becomes hypnotic and sedating, pulling the listener into a semi-conscience space between dream and nightmare.
Often toying with genres elements of UK garage, techno and house, tesh’s style embraces utilizing fascinating genre-combinations to create introverted, slower-paced electronic style. With that said, tesh still holds his own when it comes to his sound still working with a club or festival setting simultaneously. Signed to bitbird, a hotbed for electronic artists with razor sharp writing skill and a more outlying and experimental sound, “FINGERTRIPS,” feels right at home.
On the track, tesh says,
“FINGERTIPS is a snapshot of bittersweet nostalgia. The song unfolds as part of a larger theatrical narrative, weaving through my personal journey of love, loss, and emotional duality. It explores those tender moments of intimacy that live in our memory – moments that carry both the warmth of happiness and the ache of knowing they’ve passed. FINGERTIPS reflects on the fleeting nature of beautiful things, and how their temporary existence makes them all the more precious.”
We have the privilege of premiering the track ahead of its official release tomorrow. Stream “FINGERTIPS” below and enjoy!
