The 20 Best Hot Ones Interviews with Musical Guests

|||

First We Feast’s web series, Hot Ones, changed the game when it came to interviews. What started as a modest setup is now a household name, with many people even owning the hot sauces that they use on the show. Hot Ones features actors, athletes, and other celebrities, but today we’re naturally going to focus on the musical guests.

We’ve compiled a list of the singers, rappers, rockers, and more who have the most entertaining Hot Ones episodes. Each one of these has some hilarious moments in it, whether it’s Dave Grohl getting host Sean Evans wasted drunk, Danny Brown‘s nearly unintelligible responses or Vince Staples‘ witty quips.

You can check out our list of the best hot ones interviews that feature musical guests below. Enjoy!

20. CL (2021)

One of the most celebrated Korean stars in the biz takes on the wings of death with amazing reactions to the sauce. The panic that ensues after she hits Da Bomb is worth it alone.

19. T-Pain (2016)

One of the earliest guests, T-Pain concludes this wildly funny episode by signing into the I Am T-Pain microphone.

18. Redman (2016)

Rapping aside, Redman is one of the funniest dudes in hip-hop. His reactions and facial expressions are absolutely priceless. At one point he questions his entire life, and how he made it to this point.

17. Martin Garrix (2016)

One of the first EDM artists to ever be featured on the show. Even though he’s dying, he makes it through, and his Dutch accent gets stronger and stronger with each wing.

16. Justin Timberlake (2020)

Even though he’s one of the most famous guests on the shows, Justin Timberlake is somehow one of the most down-to-earth. He also gives one of the longest interviews and tells a bunch of great stories.

15. YG (2016)

YG gives one of the most impressive performances in all of Hot Ones. Born and raised in Compton, YG barely flinches while eating some of the hottest sauces on the planet.

14. DJ Snake (2017)

This one is fascinating because DJ Snake is such an enigmatic figure in the EDM scene. Many of us don’t even know what he looks like without his glasses. During the episode, he turns around while he has to wipe his eyes while saying: “behind the glasses, there is a human being.”

13. Coolio (2016)

Sean was blown away by Coolio when he absolutely covers the last wing with sauce. Sean tells him, “you might not survive this.” Coolio doesn’t even blink, until he gets some in his eye.

12. Noel Gallagher (2019)

Noel Gallagher, one-half of the iconic British band Oasis (and one of the best songwriters of all time), doesn’t often take interviews. Known for being one of the hardest partiers of the 90s, he has a slew of amazing stories.

11. ScHoolboy Q (2019)

If there were ever someone to be voted class clown of the hip-hop elite, ScHoolboy Q may get the crown. His charisma and sense of humor is on full display in this episode.

10. Trick Daddy (2018)

Host Sean Evans claims that this is the most underrated episode of the show (although it’s clear he himself is a big fan). Trick Daddy is not only a southern rap OG but is extremely knowledgeable about food.

9. Mac DeMarco (2017)

Fans of Mac DeMarco will agree that he has one of the most pleasant voices to listen to. His low-key goofball personality really comes out here, especially with his hoodie tucked back behind his ears.

8. Action Bronson (2016)

Known not just for his music but also his hit show Fuck, That’s Delicious, Action Bronson is undoubtedly hilarious, and he doesn’t miss a beat here, even when taking on the wings of death.

7. Megan Thee Stallion (2021)

One of the most charming guests in all of Hot Ones history, Meg’s laugh is impossibly infectious. We dare you to not crack a smile during this one. She also holds her own extremely well.

6. Vince Staples (2017)

Anybody that knows Vince Staples knows that he’s one of the funniest rappers in hip-hop. The man could have a side career as a stand-up comedian, and he proves that during this episode. The stories Vince whips out here are insane.

5. Anderson .Paak (2018)

He can sing, he can play the drums, and he can crack a joke at any time. Anderson .Paak is endlessly entertaining, and he even sings a song about all the different sauces at the end of the interview.

4. Billie Eilish (2019)

The youngest guest on Hot Ones at the time, Billie came correct. She gets hilariously loopy by the end and ends up going on tangents of different stories, including one where Jaden Smith tried to heal her broken ankle.

3. Danny Brown (2017)

Danny Brown has some of the wildest energy of anybody, regardless of industry. He’s as electric as ever in this interview, especially when trying to take on seriously spicy wings. His voice is enough to get us giggling. See if you can count how many times he talks about his cats.

2. Tenacious D (2018)

I mean come on. This one is just unfair. Not only is Jack Black a great musician, but a comedian as well. He assumes many different personas during this one, along with his bandmate Kyle Gass.

1. Dave Grohl (2022)

This episode will go down in history for multiple reasons. Not only is Dave a respectful and gracious guest, but he tells great stories. Oh, and he and Sean take upwards of nine shots over the course of an hour, with Sean getting noticeably hammered by the end. At the end of the episode, Sean hits Dave with the drunk classic, “I love you, man.”
