The Avalanches are back at it.
The Australian electronic group has just dropped their first release since 2016, and they’ve picked up right where they left off. The Avalanches are straight up legendary when it comes to sampling. This new single, “We Will Always Love You,” includes more of their manipulative wizardry, and also features the revered English artist Blood Orange.
The Avalanches returned after a 16-year hiatus in 2016, one of the longest breaks we’ve ever seen from a group/artist. Their 2016 album Wildflower was another big success for them, but would we have to wait another decade to see the next release from the group? Today we can happily confirm that we will not. “We Will Always Love You” is a brilliant piece of hazy, soulful music, and we’re hoping that there’s more to come this year for The Avalanches.
