The Free Nationals Return To Tiny Desk Concerts Alongside Anderson .Paak

NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series has evolved into an amazing source of intimate performances by some of the world’s biggest artists, all available for free viewing. Their most popular episode came in 2016, when Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals first performed for the online series. Not only has the episode logged a colossal 48 million views on youtube, but also had a powerfully positive impact for the careers of Cheeky Andy and The Nats. The newest episode of the unique series is certainly a bit of a homecoming as The Free Nationals made a glorious return to perform four of the smoothest, coolest, most velvety jams with the help of a few notable friends.

This latest performance is undoubtedly one of the best to date, unsurprising when you see the set list and the feature artists.  The first two songs, “Beauty & Essex” and “On Sight,” feature an impossibly sensuous highlight of emerging artist India Shawn’s vocal talent, and both come from their self-titled album. The third song, “Gidget,” brought out none other than Anderson .Paak on the drums and vocals to elevate the already extra catchy tune to the upper echelons. The final song brought yet another high-profile guest, internationally renowned roots reggae singer, Chronixx, to perform his dream inducing “Eternal Light,” also from The Free Nationals self-titled album.

This performance packed a whole lotta’ vibes into 18 minutes, but let me tell you, every second is coated in silky sonic gold.  Watch The Free Nationals return to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series with the help of India Shawn, Anderson .Paak, and Chronixx below. Enjoy!
