It’s been over a year since the highly acclaimed Tame Impala album, The Slow Rush, hit the shelves. For the first time since its release, Kevin Parker is re-opening the project sessions alongside Linda Marigliano in a brand new 90-minute interview titled A Deep Dive With Kevin Parker. This interview allows us to see just how the project was made, down to the most minute details.
Kevin reveals that one of the most important factors in making The Slow Rush is that he made this album for himself. He knew that there was a lot to be expected from him after Currents, and was feeling pressure on many different fronts. The key, it turned out, was to create an album that only he loved, and he admits that he was more proud of certain moments on this album than anything else so far in his career.
The interview touches on other topics such as his songwriting process, how and why he collaborates with other artists, and much more.
