Tom Misch Drops 2 New House Tracks as Club Alter Ego Supershy

||, |

In case you missed it, Tom Misch has a new side project where he gets a little bit more dance music-focused. He just dropped two new songs under the pseudonym for his housey concoctions, titled Supershy. “Change” and “Take My Time” follow two singles he released earlier this year.

Despite the club sound of Supershy, Misch never loses touch with his background as a talented musician, with instrumental easter eggs popping up in the verses of both tracks. Featuring vocals from Wayne Snow, “Change” is driven by a bouncing, irresistible bass line and slight hints of acid synths. The classic house sound on this song is refreshing and reminiscent of pioneers like Larry Heard (Mr. Fingers), who Misch cited as an influence. “Take My Time” is the funkier of the two tracks. An electric guitar riff is the center of attention, which Misch distorts to the max. The vocals from featured singer Vula act as another instrument, perfectly paced with a beat that will have your head nodding and foot tapping.

Make sure to listen to both these two tracks below. If you like what you’re hearing, two more singles will be released next month, with a full mixtape coming out this fall. Enjoy!
