TSHA Continues to Impress with Uplifting New Single “Water”

It’s been an incredibly successful year for rising artist TSHA. From a packed tour schedule opening for artists like Disclosure and Flume, this brightly blossoming producer is one to watch out for.

Just last week, we shared a single from her upcoming album, Capricorn Sun, a project two years in the making. Today the London-based producer released the second single from the project titled “Water,” an emotive track that features Malian activist and artist Oumou Sangare. Inspired by Afro-house production and Malian music, the song is upbeat with lively synths and a smooth rhythm. TSHA spoke about the inspiration for the track in a recent interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music:

Water is a song from my up-and-coming album, Capricorn Sun. It’s actually the oldest song on the album in terms of when it was written. It was written pre-pandemic. And it was the first time that I was introduced to Malian vocals and the tradition of a Malian Griot. And at the time, we were unable to clear Oumou’s vocals, which was gutted. And I thought I would never get to release this song. And that’s what led me down the path of making my other song, Demba. But then finally, I was able to clear. So I’m so excited that it’s a single and it’s going to be on the album. It’s a very uplifting and emotive song. I called it Water because it flows and it feels very cleansing.

We’re looking forward to TSHA’s debut album this October! Until then, you can stream her latest single, “Water” below. Enjoy!
