Indie Electronic Duo Vaarwell Deliver Dreamy Pop Ballad “consume”

We absolutely fell in love with the London based indie electronic duo, Vaarwell, earlier this year when they dropped “fall back.” When it comes to singer/producer combos, what comes to mine is often Phantogram, Marian Hill, Purity Ring. Vaarwell definitely deserves to be among those ranks, delivering dreamy, ethereal vocals that are lined with a thick, satisfying production.

Vaarwell recently shared a new song titled, “consume,” which is part of their upcoming EP, Consume & Grow. Here’s what the Margardia, the vocalist of the two, had to say about writing the track:

[“consume”] was born from my anxieties as an older sister to three young girls. I’m very close to my siblings (all females so the sisterhood is strong) and a particular conversation with my older sisters about the future of the young ones and entering young adulthood made me worry about everything – who they will become, the decisions and inevitable mistakes they will make, the people who they will hang out with … I felt the need to write a cautionary song, something to remind [them] about growing slowly and calmly in order to achieve a strong, happy and mature growth, how they shouldn’t feel the need need to rush into things or change to be accepted…

You can listen to “consume”  below. Consume & Grow will be out some time in June, so stay tuned. Enjoy!
