Every track we hear from warner case is better than the last. His latest song is no exception. Out today via his new label Top Right Records, “it feels real” is a nostalgic, nu-disco ode to love.
Amid a backdrop of floaty hi-hats and a warm, rolling bassline, a wave of hazy synths washes over the track. With its dreamy swirls of staccato piano chords, “it feels real” immediately sweeps us up into its mesmerizing vortex. As warner case fiddles with the reverb dials to create an uplifting effect, his pensive vocals drifts into the verse. In a spoken word format, he reflects on the thrill of falling in love.
In a press release, case elaborated on the meaning behind the song:
“it feels real’ is about being truly seen and loved, and the liberating feeling that comes from it. to be freed from judgment and pain is something i wish everyone can experience, even if briefly.”
