Australian producer Cassian has shared his homecoming live performance from Harbourlife Festival in Sydney. The DJ set was a special one, as it was his first live appearance in Australia since the pandemic. The entire performance, complete with drone footage and straight-from-the-mixer audio, was recently uploaded to YouTube for all of us to enjoy.
The hour-long performance takes place as the sun sets on the Sydney Harbour, with Cassian’s selections dipping into melodic techno and progressive house. The tracklist includes climactic tunes taken mostly from labels like Tale Of Us’s Afterlife and RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue. In there, you can find a couple of unreleased tunes from Cassian himself, too.
Cassian commented that the performance was particularly emotional for him:
This was my first show in Sydney, my hometown, in over 3 years. Before the pandemic, I’d never gone more than 6 months away from home so this was an emotional moment for me. There is a special track I made as a tribute to my homeland and I’ll never forget playing it for the first time in this set.
