Some kind soul has uploaded a video of Mac Miller‘s full performance at Coachella back in 2017. It’s from the official Coachella stream, so not only do we get to relive this riveting performance; we get to enjoy it in immaculate quality and with professional production. The video popped up on YouTube on the 9th anniversary of his 2012 mixtape Macadelic.
From beginning to end, Mac captivates the crowd in the Sahara tent with his effortless flows. He ping-ponged back and forth between more of his slower, underground tracks and the hyphy anthems that had every person in the crowd singing along and bouncing to the beat. Most of the songs are off his GO:OD AM and The Divine Feminine albums, the latter of which dropped the year prior.
Clips like this offer an incredible opportunity to experience a show as if you were there, but when it’s a fallen legend like Mac, the footage is so much more special. The performance occurred 16 months before his death, and has to be one of his most energetic and exciting sets. What an absolute treat to be able to watch back on.
