Since The Strokes weren’t able to make it to Primavera Sound yesterday, Kevin Parker honored the beloved rock band with a great cover of one of their hit songs, “Last Nite,” during Tame Impala‘s headlining set.
Primavera Sound released a statement yesterday, announcing that The Strokes were unfortunately not going to be able to perform due to an ongoing COVID-19 issue. This is the second performance in a row that The Strokes have had to pull out of, following their cancellation at Boston Calling last weekend. They’re currently still slated to play the next weekend of Primavera Sound on June 10.
To help satisfy the craving of many fans at the festival this weekend, Kevin Parker was able to fit in this nifty Tame Impala cover. One of the attendees recorded the performance and shared it on YouTube.
You can watch the video of the performance below. Enjoy!
