Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label is one of the most consistent labels in electronic music when it comes to spotlighting up and coming artists. As tastemakers, the label is continuously showcasing a diverse range of bass music and phenomenal bass music at that. Today, the label has unveiled their 6th annual compilation for their We Are Deadbeats series. With 20 tracks, featuring genres like downtempo, dnb, trap, classic 140 dubstep and more from today’s rising bass music stars this compilation is a must listen.
The compilation kicks off with a brand new collaboration from the label heads themselves in “Tomb of the Scorpion.” Featuring South African producer Chee, this track is an A+ and lays the groundwork for the rest of the compilation. Among the batch of young talent in this collection is Jordanian producer Don Jamal, whose bouncy contribution “Alright Thanks” includes a trap infused first verse that leads to a dnb second verse that is just phenomenal. Another standout is South Florida-based Steller and her single “Vibe One Time,” a funky LSDREAM-esque dubstep number that oozes vibes. The collaborative spirit of bass music is alive and well with this compilation. Deadbeats, you’ve done it again.
