With 2019 marking the 50th anniversary of the iconic Woodstock Music and Art Fair, we we’re beyond excited to hear the festival’s original promoters had a celebratory show in the works. But with the rumor mill surrounding the anniversary in overdrive, today we’ve just received word that Daft Punk, Skrillex & Chance The Rapper may be among the speculated star studded lineup.
One thing’s for sure, there will be a show. As original promoter Michael Lang recently stated in an interview with the Poughkeepsie Journal, promoters “have definite plans” for a celebratory show. Although Lang went on to say “this is not a done deal yet. But it’s very close,” a recent leak seems to suggest that the show is well on it’s way to being huge.
Veteran leak account Festive Owl took to its socials recently to share info about an event affiliated with the Woodstock celebration titled “Journey On”. Although this might not be in direct connection with Lang’s statements, the graphics shared by Festive Owl convey the message “Celebrate Woodstock’s 50th Where It Happened”. With an “artists being approached” listing prominent acts such as Daft Punk, Swedish House Mafia, deadmau5, Skrillex, Logic, Chance The Rapper, Lorde, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Eminem & more, although this is far from a lineup confirmation, with Bon Jovi, Elton John, Doobie Brothers, Phish, The Who and Santana named alongside others, “Journey On” definitely presents a pan-generational grandeur we would definitely expect from Woodstock.
Although we’re still awaiting confirmation from Michael Lang and an official announcement from the fest, if this 50th Anniversary event is even half as stacked as it’s slated to be, fans across all genres are in for a treat. Check out Festive Owl’s leaked images below and enjoy!
