If there’s anything Subtronics and his label, Cyclops Recordings, are known for, it’s a pension for enabling loud, boundary-pushing bass music. The label has recruited ZEKE BEATS to continue that trend which has brought us his mind-melting Digital Death EP.
The 3-track EP is packed full of energy and hits right away with the firestarting “Psycho.” The track features a wildly unique production filled with tempo changes, chopped vocal samples, and heavy sound design. “Error” feels like a perfect continuation as ZEKE weaves in digital inspired sounds mixed with a lethal dose of bass. The final track, “Self Destruct,” delves deeper into the sonic bass-filled depths of electronic music and pretty much throws out any rules you may have thought existed in traditional production.
