WHIPPED CREAM is one producer that’s continuously been killing it in the bass music world. Having amassed an abundance of support from some of electronic music’s biggest names (including Porter Robinson and RL Grime), today we’re excited to have the pleasure of premiering the quickly-rising Canadian producer’s new remix of ZHU’s “Desert Woman”.
“When I first heard desert woman it instantly became one of my favourite records in 2018. I knew I wanted to play with it the day I heard it, but give it the respect it deserves and not take it too far away from the original. I wanted to keep a lot of the elements and vibe of the original but incorporate a new electronic boost of energy for my live sets.” – Whipped Cream
While we weren’t sure what to expect from the collision of ZHU’s groovy, slow rolling house production and WHIPPED CREAM’s destructive bass sound, this impressive new offering seems to have transcended boundaries on both fronts. Starting off slow with some distant percussion and eerie atmospheric soundscapes, WC has masterfully stitched her heavy distorted bass and unique, skittering sound design in with ZHU’s soft, passionate vocals and lush layered synths to create this explosive new hybrid-trap behemoth.
