Hudson Mohawke Drops 2 New Songs From Upcoming Album ‘Cry Sugar’

||, |,

After the announcement of Hudson Mohawke‘s upcoming album, Cry Sugar (set to arrive August 12,) fans have eagerly been awaiting new singles from the prolific producer. His first offering off the LP was the electro-inspired heater “Bicstan,” accompanied by “Cry Sugar – Megamix,” giving listeners a taste of what’s coming on the full album. Today, HudMo surprises his loyal fanbase with a very special double-single, “Dance Forever / Stump.”

A dynamic pairing of tracks, both “Dance Forever” and “Stump” have something uniquely exceptional to offer. The Scottish producer kicks off the double-single with “Dance Forever,” a track dominated by saturated drum machines and crunchy bass lines. Mohawke, drawing from UK Garage inspiration, pulls the listener in with his playful production and vocal sampling.

“Stump,” living at the other end of both the production and writing spectrums, is a dramatic four-minute, twenty-one-second musical saga. Interspersed with cinematic drum samples, echoing synth leads and booming bass chords, the listener becomes enveloped in the world of Hudmo and Cry Sugar by its conclusion.

You can listen to “Dance Forever / Stump” below via Warp Records. Enjoy!
